I just set this up, and I plan to use it! Follow if you like!
I also have a twitter! But I don't post to it often.
Hey, I'm Richard, but Rick, Ricky, Rich, or just about anything you want to call me is fine. I usually try to be a nice person, so we'll probably get along for the most part. I am Canadian, and I'm told (by Americans) that I have a bit of an accent. Feel free to send me a message, I love to meet new people!
Drawing was always an interest for me since I was very young; I remember playing with the paints more than anything in kindergarten. I never really got serious about it until high school, and I've been drawing as a hobby ever since.
I've recently graduated from the Video Game Art program at Sault College! It's a fairly new course centered mostly around 3D Studio Max, Mudbox, and the Unreal Development Kit, with time spent to teach basic art techniques and practices as well. In the two years I spent studying there, I've seen a great improvement in my skills, as well as a general broadening of the media I am comfortable with. My long term goal is to make money creating quality assets for video game projects, either with a popular company, or with my friends. I also have an interest in animation, and I have been planning an animation project for a while now.
Growing up, fantasy stories, surreal artists, and cartoons have been an influence to me artistically, (and, more recently, anime) but lately I've been drifting further away from the surreal style of art. Fantasy and surreal seem to me like they would blend together fairly well, so I intend to explore more in that direction in the future.
I have a Formspring: www.formspring.me/Inatervo
And a Twitter: twitter.com/#!/Inatervo
And I'm pretty good at neglecting both. Go send some messages so I have an excuse to use them!
I also have a blog that I neglect about as much! richardchaplinvga.blogspot.ca/
Also I'm not a fan of Llama badges, but people keep giving them to me.
